How can you remove moles, skin tags and warts?
The first step to removing warts, moles and skin tags is to identify them. Although we may be confused into thinking that all these horrid embarrassing growths on our face or body are more or less the same, the truth is that warts, moles and skin tags have very different causes and should be dealt with in different ways.
Warts are small lumpy growths, almost like a cauliflower in shape and texture. They typically grow on fingers or toes, hands, feet or legs, but can be found anywhere on the body. There are almost 10 varieties of warts, including common warts, flat warts, plantar warts and genital warts. Although harmless, warts are caused by a viral infection and are contagious. They can also be quite embarrassing, and painful, since they may get irritated and bleed, depending on which part of your body you have them.
Moles are usually hereditary. They are not contagious and are not caused by any sort of virus. There is no reason to remove them, unless they tend to get irritated and bleed as a result of rubbing on clothes or interfering with your daily routine such as shaving. Naturally, some moles can be really ugly and hairy and if they grow on your face or other visible part of your body, you may wish to remove them for cosmetic reasons. There are ... main differences between moles and warts:
- Warts are generally skin colored and rough in texture, while moles are almost always darker (medium brown to blue-black) and smoother.
- There may be hair growing out of moles while warts are almost always hairless.
-Warts may look shiny sometimes, while moles have the appearance and texture of normal skin.
-Warts may disapear on the own eventually, while moles can only be eliminated through surgery or specific treatment.
-Warts can be quite painful, contrary to moles.
Skin tags are neither warts nor moles. They are generally not contagious, unlike warts and almost never develop into cancerous growths, unlike moles. They are not caused by viral infections, and are believed to be the result of skin rubbing constantly on skin or other surfaces such as clothes or jewellery. Skin tags are probably the most harmless of all three kinds of skin lesions and there is no reason to remove them, unless they bother you for cosmetic reasons or by getting irritated and bleeding.
As warts, moles and skin tags may sometimes look similar to an untrained eye, it is very importnat to ask for a professional diagnosis before you attempt any sort of treatment on your own.
